  • Kimchee has a modest entrance that’s easy to spot, and it already had a short queue of people waiting when we arrived. I headed straight to the host stand to let them know we had a booking for seven. The host was quick, polite, and took us straight in. It was good to see they take bookings seriously because we avoided the queue entirely. At first we were placed at a shared six person table, but when we explained we were celebrating and wanted a bit more privacy, he found us a quieter two person table at the back. That was a really considerate touch. Within seconds of sitting down, our waitress brought over water and cups. She was organised, polite, and had a good sense of timing. She let us read the menu without hovering, but as soon as we looked up to find her, she came over. She took the order, repeated everything back, and checked for allergies. We both ordered drinks. I had the lychee love, which was sweet and very easy to enjoy. My partner had a pina colada that tasted as good as it looked. The food came out in stages, not all at once, but it arrived fairly quickly. We had beef bulgogi, spicy chicken bulgogi, avocado salad, sticky rice, and cheese tteokbokki. The tteokbokki was very spicy, so something to keep in mind, but the flavour was excellent. The rice cakes have that soft, chewy texture that’s very different but full of character. It’s more of a side dish, but a good one. The beef and chicken came on small charcoal burners that kept everything warm and gave the meat a nice toasted edge. It made the meal feel a bit more special. The atmosphere in the main area is busy and lively, with the noise coming from conversations and the open kitchen. I didn’t notice any music, but it didn’t feel like anything was missing. The lighting is low with focused spotlights, giving the place a calm, Korean inspired aesthetic with soft shadows and a warm tone. Sitting in the quieter back section was perfect for us. The total was 96 pounds for two people. For the amount of food, the cocktail quality, and the general experience, I think that’s fair. The staff were friendly and efficient, and everything ran smoothly without mistakes. Overall, Kimchee delivered a great evening. Good food, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I’d happily go back.

  • Stylish Korean place in Kings Cross. Good choices of Korean food and they tasted authentic. Wasnt too busy on bank holiday lunch. Would have been better if they serve small plates starters like all Korean restaurants do in Korea.

  • Came here as a group of three for lunch on a Monday. We had about five suitcases with us, and it was still manageable. We did not make a reservation and only needed to wait for a few minutes for a table as walk-ins. We ordered the beef bulgogi, beef bibimbap, and a seafood omelette, along with a frosty beer. The seafood omelette was excellent and definitely the highlight of our meal. The beef bulgogi was served over a coal burner, which looked great and added to the experience, and it tasted very good as well. The bibimbap was also enjoyable. Portion sizes were moderate, so if you have a big appetite, you may want to order an extra dish. The staff were friendly, and although it was fairly busy, service was quick and efficient. The restroom is located down a reasonably sized staircase, but it was clean and well maintained. Overall, a pleasant lunch spot, and I’d highly recommend the seafood omelette.

  • This restaurant is conveniently located close to Kings Cross, and it's always very busy with a constant flow of customers. I really enjoyed their jajangmyeon (black bean noodles). The staff seemed quite exhausted, likely due to the high volume of guests. Overall, the atmosphere is lively but noisy—still, the food tastes great and makes it worth a visit.

  • We came for an early dinner and really enjoyed the experience. The restaurant was not busy yet, so the seating felt very comfortable and the cosy décor made it a relaxing place to settle in. The food was delicious with an authentic Korean taste, everything was well-seasoned and satisfying. They also have some seasonal drink like mulled wine, which was really nice . Service was attentive throughout, and our waitress was especially friendly and polite, which added to the overall enjoyment. For central London, the prices are very reasonable, making it great value for the quality you get. Highly recommend if you’re looking for tasty Korean cuisine in a comfortable setting.

  • 1st time we have been to Kimchee. One of my new favourites that isn't a posh restaurant. Food was very tasty, lots of choices available. Prices were excellent for London. Cocktails were really nice. Seats were slightly cramped but not a problem. Staff were attentive but could have noticed empty glasses sooner to ask if we wanted more drinks. Mocktails were really expensive though- similar prices to proper Cocktails which I didn't really understand. Good access for disabled diners but not sure the tables catered for people in wheelchairs. We booked our table but walkins were getting seated although was busy at 2pm. Was much quieter at 3pm-4pm Overall- we liked it and no complaints.

  • Lovely experience dining at Kimchee. Staff were super attentive and kind. I would recommend booking in advance as it is very popular and busy on main floor. BBQ grills are available from 5pm. The chicken dumplings, korean wings and katsu bao bun were my favourite. Tteokbokki was lovely too. Chicken is halal. It was nice to see mocktails too. Would definitely visit again.

  • A great authentic Korean resturant to check out. I went with my family, there was a wait queue, but with our booking we got sat quickly, We booked the main restaurant area. Our food came out in a matter of minutes and it was delicious, the presentation was great and the taste did not dissapoint. We were greatful for our server, Kim, who was always right there if we needed something and delivered results quick. We got lots of mains and desserts that were wonderful cannot wait to come back and eat here again.
